If you were on a jury how many witnesses would you require for a conviction? For most people two or three trustworthy observers would suffice. If someone told you that Jesus was raised from the dead how many witnesses would necessitate establishing it? In the book of 1 Corinthians 15:6 it states, “…he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living,…”(NIV). At the time of Paul’s authorship there were perhaps hundreds of individuals still alive that could oppose the apostle if what he had written were false. If Jesus was raised from the dead and He is coming back just as he said what does that mean for us? It means life eternal for those who believe in Him and His resurrection, (Romans 10:9-10). This begs the question… What about those who don’t believe? More in the next installment of ‘Food for Thought’, but for now it is something to think about...
