Food For Thought

Have you ever consider starting a business with another person who is not a believer? Have you ever wondered if it is o.k. for a Christian to marry an unbeliever? It is written in 2 Corinthians 6: 14 “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.”(NIV) In verse 15 of that same chapter Paul wrote, “What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?” It is clear, in context, from these passages that we are to avoid religious covenants and business partnerships on a personal level with those who are not part of the Christian faith. The purpose of this is not to oppress us but to free us from future conflict. Arguments always arise between believers but they are much more frequent between those who share different core beliefs. It is the same as a father warning his children to choose their friends carefully because, “bad company corrupts good morals.” (1 Cor. 15:33). There are dangers all around us and it is beneficial to heed God’s instruction in our relationships. Something to think about…
