There are those that believe Jesus Christ was a good teacher or a wise prophet but the scripture teach us that Jesus was much more. In various places we read that Jesus was God in human form. Jesus is referred to as our great God in Titus 2:13, “while we wait for the blessed hope-- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,”(NIV). He is also known as the word of God and is given the status of deity in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”(NIV). Col 1:15 states, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”(NIV). These are just a few of the direct scriptures that reveal Jesus’ true nature. Those who teach to the contrary are sent to deceive and distort the truth. Committing these scripture to memory will enable us to defend sound doctrine and assist us in bringing others to maturity.
