Food For Thought

Inevitably we will have conflict when we have relationships. Colossians 3 instructs us on what our attitudes and actions should be when we interact with one another. “Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity” Col 3:12 (NIV). Disagreements will surely arise but if we allow it, God can use disputes to make us better people. If we are prepared to forgive, to be humble and kind, we will not only help ourselves but those we relate to as well. The next time you clash with others seek to be the peace maker (Matthew 5:9). Be willing to interact in a way that exalts God and not the flesh. Something to think about…
