Food For Thought

There are religions and churches that teach salvation by works. In others words you must work in order to acquire and maintain your salvation. Scripture tells us that works are a result of salvation and not the vehicle by which it is attained. Eph 2:8-9 makes this very clear. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.” (NIV). Works are a response to the grace that God has extended to us. Salvation is obtained by faith and confession. Rom 10:9-10 instructs us, “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (NIV). If we simply put our trust in Christ to forgive us He promises to do so. Something to think about…
