Loneliness is a regrettable state that many find themselves in during the Christmas season but it must be understood we are never truly alone. God has let us know that if we are isolated either by location or by our own thoughts He is very much present. The Psalmist wrote in Ps 139:7-10 “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” NIV. So when we are feeling cut-off or alone we do not need to take a journey far away to find comfort or assistance, we simple need to turn to God who is as close as a prayer. Heb 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, … and find grace to help in time of need.” KJV Something to think about…
