Food For Thought

Proverbs 3:5 tell us that we are to, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart…” (NIV). But at the same time, we are also encouraged not to place our trust in any material goods we might acquire. Ps 20:7 says “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” (NIV). Some might say it is okay to trust each other, but God has a different idea as His psalmist wrote, “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.” Ps 118:8, (NIV). The reason God gives us this instruction is so we place our full trust in Him only. Given the right circumstances not only will our money and possessions fail us but so will those who are our closest friends. Is your marriage on the rocks, is your money taking flight, is your health at a low point? It is only the Lord who is incapable of failing; trust in Him for everything. Something to think about…
