Food For Thought

In comparison to the size of a ship a rudder is very small, yet it possesses tremendous power. James tells us in his epistle, “…take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. (James 3:4, NIV) We are instructed in the book of James that if we are able to control our tongue we are ‘perfect’. Failure to use our tongue in a Godly fashion can cause our lives to be ruined (James 3:6). One of our lifelong goals as Christians should be to perfect our speech. We have the ability to bless others by just a few words or cause a life of grief through harsh language. Read and meditate on Ephesians 4:29. Something to think about…
