Food For Thought

Trials seem to come at the most inopportune times and “Why now” might be the lament uttered when faced with an unanticipated hardship. When blessings arrive we rejoice but whether we experience suffering or blessing it is always the Lord who has determined the timing. Eccl 3:1-8 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,…”(NIV). If understanding escapes us when importunity strikes we are to rest and know that God is working for our good. Just as Rom 8:28 declares, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Something to think about…
