Marriage today is constantly under attack; ever since Adam and Eve Satan has been trying to destroy families. One way Satan attempts to do this is by having the church adopt worldly ideas about faithfulness in marriage. The phrase, “you can look at the menu but you need to eat at home” illustrates this worldly concept. But Jesus pointed out our heart, as well as our bodies, must be faithful to our spouse. “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28). So spouses must begin as Job and “make a covenant with our eyes not to look lustily…” (Job 31:1). For if we cannot be faithful to our spouse who we can see, how can we be faithful to God who we cannot see. Something to think about…
