When we gather together as family, friends, or as Christians, the experience is normally enriching but what does Jesus have to tell us about not going to church? When Christians assemble, the fellowship that is produced brings strength and encouragement to all who participate. The author of Hebrews wrote in chapter 10, verse 25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (NIV). Believers are to be in the habit of meeting together for the purpose of bringing mutual benefit. Opportunities to bless others are missed when our participation lacks therefore we should strive to attend Sunday service, home fellowship and Bible study. This ultimately fulfills Christ’s example of bringing blessings to others. So the next time we choose yard work, house cleaning or sleep instead of fellowship know that others are missing your support. Something to think about…
