Christians must live in this world but they are to act as if they are foreigners in their actions, speech and attitudes. For example, an individual who is given to foul language and anger belongs to this world, they are unbelievers. Colossians 3:8-10 tells believers to put away these things when it says, “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”(NIV). Also, pride is a characteristic of someone who is lost because Psalm 10:4 lets us know, “In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.”(NIV). Just as it would be strange to see an unbeliever acting like a Christian it is also an odd thing to see a believer acting like a person of this world. It should always be the goal of the Christian to act like our Savior in all areas of life and to shed the lifestyle of those who do not have the Savior. Something to think about…
