How can you tell that God has changed your life? Galatians chapter five gives us a list of deeds we can recognize so that we may know God is working in us. If we have an abundance of “love joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” we can receive great assurance that Christ is working is us. If we practice “sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like” it is clear the Spirit of God is not influencing us in the right direction. At this point we would do well to look at 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-- unless, of course, you fail the test?” (NIV). Something to think about…
