Food For Thought

Unlike the plants of the field, we can determine how fast we grow. A plant must rely on environmental conditions to sustain growth. We on the other hand can create an environment that provides us with maximum benefits. When the development of fellowship, breaking of bread, the apostles doctrine and prayer (Acts 2:42) are employed lasting results are generated. Fellowship provides unity with each other while the ‘breaking of bread’, or communion, solidifies our connection and identification with God. When doctrine is studied it prevents us from taking the wrong path. Finally prayer allows us to get direction and wisdom from the Father. Those who seek maturity through building such characteristics will be able to distinguish good from evil and will rarely make mistakes (Heb 5:14). If we plan our course for spiritual development we will certainly benefit ourselves but also those around us. Something to think about…
