Rest is a commodity that is difficult to come by these days. With the demands of work, family and church a few minutes or days alone are of great worth. Nevertheless it is vitally important that we carve out of our schedules times of relaxation. Jesus would get away from the demands of life to pray and be alone with His Father. Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (NIV) Even though Jesus maintained a strong sense of responsibility to minister to others He thought it equally important to seek out times of solitude, reflection and refreshment. If our savior thought it to be important we also should put it on our priority list. Jesus loved us so much that he set us example for living life in both word and deed. We would do well to follow Him. Something to think about…
