Food For Thought

In 1 Peter 2:19 it is written’ “For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.(NIV). In John 12:25 we are told, “The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” (NIV) These two scriptures are examples of how we are to live as believers. Instead of demanding our rights we can choose to endure wrong. When we are offended we can pray for our enemies. When persecuted we can remember Romans 12:14, “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” (NIV) This is radical teaching for those who live in a hostile world the question is; do you want to be a radical? Something to think about…
